Here at JING Kids, we firmly believe that all children should be given the opportunity to learn the skills they will need to succeed in a global market and an interconnected world, physically, mentally, and emotionally, and preferably in a way that is both fun and challenging.
Towards this end, JING offers three pillars of education: cultural-linguistic, physical, and technological-academic.
Cultural-linguistic: JING teaches Mandarin Chinese because it is the most common language on earth, because China is a rising global power, and because Chinese is a root language for many other Asian languages. JING uses Chinese songs, games, art, culture, and history to help the language come alive, and help our young students learn about other cultures.
Physical: JING teaches its students Chinese martial arts (Wushu) on the principle that healthy bodies promote healthy minds, and there is no other exercise as healthy and complete as Wushu.
Technological-academic: JING offers
dedicated academic time and help for students to finish their schoolwork;
our own elective STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) program, consisting of Bits (computer programming), Bots (engineering and robotics), and Mathwerks (yay math!) so that students have a dedicated class to learn and improve their technological prowess each and every week.
We at JING are very proud of our achievements thus far. Our students make great strides in physical, cultural, and linguistic development at JING. It is important to understand that we are not a daycare facility, but that we proudly provide an after-school program that is a worthwhile alternative to daycare.

The JING Institute of Chinese Martial Arts & Culture was founded in 2001 by Siu-Fong Evans. It is run by her daughter and son-in-law, Jing Jing and Chris Mendoza. JING was always meant to be a place to learn more than just martial arts; it was meant to be a source of Chinese language and cultural learning for all of San Diego to enjoy.
It wasn't until 2011, however, that forces converged and JING was able to begin JING Kids, a program tailored specifically for children in grades K-8.
